George Bailey Detention Facility

George F. Bailey Detention Facility
446 Alta Rd, Suite 5300
San Diego, CA 92158
(619) 661-2620

The largest of all detention facilities in the San Diego County Sheriff’s jurisdiction in the state of California is the George F. Bailey Detention Facility. This facility is found in San Diego, California, more specifically in the Otay Mesa area. This particular detention center collaborates with Detention Facility 8 and the East Mesa Detention Facility, both also found within the state of California. As a maximum security jail, the George F. Bailey Detention Facility holds most detainees that were also booked within its walls. The facility only holds male arrestees, and has numerous visiting schedules available because of the high number of inmates it currently has within its premises. Information regarding these schedules is available through the web site of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Common Crimes in the Otay Mesa Area

The Otay Mesa area in San Diego fortunately has a low number of violent crimes committed each year. However, the area is more prone to property crime incidents, with a rate that is considered above normal. Most men arrested in this area are detained for property crimes such as residential burglary, non-residential burglary, theft cases for various amounts, and car theft. Armed robbery, rape, and murder, all fall under the category of violent crimes, but these kinds of crimes are very uncommon in the Otay Mesa area. Most of the men currently detained in the George F. Bailey Detention Facility are arrested for such crimes, although some inmates charged with more heinous crimes can be transferred to this maximum security center from time to time. If they are arrested, people can keep themselves out of the George F. Bailey Detention Center by taking care of the bail set for their case. In certain situations where people are unable to pay for the set bail, they can choose to get help from bail bonds companies.

What is a Bail Bond?

The bail bond is the agreement made between the indemnitor (responsible signer) and the bail bond agency. Upon approval, the bail bond company will have a bondsman post a bail bond for the full bail amount in order for the defendant to be released.  The bail bond insures that the defendant will show up to all scheduled court appearances.

What is the cost of a Bail Bond?

The cost of a bail bond is 10% of the total bail amount.  For example if the bail is set at $30,000, then the amount you pay is $3,000.    This amount is governed by the California Department of Insurance and is a non-refundable fee.

For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover) in addition to cash.  We can also arrange flexible payment plans to those who qualify.

Bail Bond Process

When you call us looking to post bail for one of your friends or loved ones, we will answer all of your questions, assess the situation and have you approved within in minutes.  Upon approval we will have you fill out our very simple paperwork.  Once the paperwork returned and payment has been made or arranged then we will have the bail bond posted at the jail in order for the defendant to be processed for release.

Why Choose a Bondsman

Bail bonds companies have already helped a lot of people make the most out of their time with their families and other loved ones. They have contributed positively in the lives of many people in California, allowing them to walk freely within the state while awaiting trial. That allows them to prepare for their defense. The help that they provide far outweighs the bond payment, as people who have been arrested can be present with those they love, find a little peace of mind, and be able to properly prepare for everything they need when their court trial date arrives. The time you spend on these things could make the difference in your case.

We have been in business since 1971 and have many years of experience reuniting families during a very crucial time in their lives.  When you call our company we will work quickly and efficiently so that your friend or loved one is back home with the people who care about them the most.
