How Long Does It Take to Post San Diego Bail Bonds?

Our friend was arrested about 30 minutes ago and he’s being taken to the San Diego Central Jail to be booked. We’re supposed to drive to Northern California in an hour so we’re hoping to get him out of jail ASAP. How fast can we get this handled?

When someone is arrested by a member of the San Diego Police Department or San Diego Sheriff’s Department, they’ll need to be brought to one of the San Diego Jails to be booked and processed. When the defendant arrives at the jail, they’ll need to undergo an intake interview, they’ll need to be photographed, they’ll need to be fingerprinted and they will need to be checked for warrants.  The warrant check generally takes 4 to 6 hours to complete and the jail will not allow anyone to post bail bonds until the warrant check comes back. Once the San Diego bail bonds are posted, it generally takes the jail another 4 to 6 hours to process the release paperwork.  All in all, your friend will likely be in custody between 8 and 12 hours.  For more information on how San Diego bail bonds work call our office now at 888-224-5266 to speak with a local bondsman.
