Alleged Gunman Booked at San Diego Central Jail

A man who is accused of robbing another man at gunpoint has been arrested and booked at the San Diego Central Jail. The suspect’s name has not been released, pending investigation, a spokesperson said, and as such, his exact charges are not immediately known.

His bail bonds amount is also unclear.

According to police reports, an El Cajon resident called 911 on January 2 to report his property had been stolen. The incident was described as being a “random street robbery.”

Officers spotted who they believed to be the suspect a few blocks away. When they approached the man to question him, he took off on foot. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit.

Since the El Cajon Police Department does not have a booking facility, the suspect was taken to the San Diego Central Jail to be booked and processed into the system.

If he wishes to be released from custody pending trial, either the defendant or his family will want to contact a San Diego bail bonds company for further assistance.
